With 2019 on the horizon, we wanted to take a moment to reflect on Meridian West’s highlights of the year and preview what to watch out for during the coming months.

2018 in review

Thank you to all colleagues, clients and partners who have made 2018 such a memorable year. Our highlights include:

New team members. We welcomed new faces to the Meridian West team. Helen Trudgeon joined in a new role as Head of Marketing and Business Development. Emily Miller, Anna Lake and Miles King joined as consultants.

Future of the professions. Following the success of Professional Services Leadership Handbook in 2017, we continued to publish practical insights on the pressing issues facing professional services leaders. With Oxford University’s Saïd Business School we co-authored a series of white papers on strategic learning and development.

Philanthropic support. For the sixth year in a row we were a corporate supporter of education charity Teach First. We also provided pro-bono support to anti-bullying charity Kidscape to help them understand the needs and experiences of carers to keep children safe from bullying and harm.

Business Buyers Barometer. Our annual study of professional services buying behaviour in the UK engaged its widest audience in over 15 years. We took the pulse of 800 C-suite leaders about their relationships with accountancy, legal and consulting firms.

Monthly roundtables. Each month we hosted professional services marketers for breakfast to talk about the issues that matter to them, their firms and their clients.

Client impact. The Meridian West team continued to deliver high quality, high impact work for professional firms in the UK and globally, with client engagements spanning five continents.

2019 in preview

Among the many things to watch out for in 2019 include:

Marketing Leaders Benchmark 2019. The years kicks off debating the findings of our annual survey among CMOs and Heads of Business Development at a special PM Forum event on 23rd January.

Refreshed ideas Lab and thought leadership. We have refined our offering to professional firms to help them plan, execute and drive engagement with their thought leadership and content campaigns.

Segmentation, persona mapping and advanced analytics. We will continue to invest in enhancing our services to clients to deliver greater insight and strategic impact. In 2019 our Business Buyers Barometer will expand to cover additional markets beyond the UK.

Professional services innovation. Perhaps most excitingly of all, 2019 will see a big focus on professional services innovation with bespoke courses, further research and consulting engagements all delivered under a new brand.

Look out for more details in the coming weeks and months.
